At Africa Angels, we are driven by a single goal: to do our part in making the world a better place for all. Our decision-making process is based on local empirical studies and high-quality data evaluation. In addition, we strive to build protective relationships and make a positive impact on all our pursuits.

In 2014, after visiting The Gambia for the second time, Elena set up Africa Angels with the purpose of building a lasting legacy to help and support young children who have so little.
 

One year later, Elena had gathered enough resources to build the first school, partnering with remote and rural communities where children were forced to leave school without skills. But, again, in 2018, Elena had to fight at home, this time for her own life. 
Despite her struggle with cancer, Elena continued her charitable work. She got a strong team together, and her organisation built the second school, benefitting over 400 children, who can now access proper education in a suitable environment.
The team also built the first water pump last year, helping more than 300 people access clean and potable water without an arduous 6km journey by foot.

Celebrating over four years of experience on the ground in The Gambia, and with the support of so many generous donors, we continue our monumental challenge to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people.
